The Brewhouse at Burgundys, Lowther Street, Kendal
5 May to 31 July 2015
This exhibition shows different areas of the artist’s life and work and how her painting has been inspired by her travels around the world and the cities, landscapes and gardens that she has visited. The patterns, shapes and repetition to be found in the natural and artificial world intrigue Anne and she aims to interpret this in both here landscapes and cityscapes.
“My recent work has been inspired by the hills and dales of Cumbria, Cheshire, and Derbyshire where I love to work outside experiencing the changing skies, weather and seasons. I will often develop these paintings further in the studio to capture the changing moods, colour and light of these dramatic landscapes. I also find fascination in cityscapes and am showing work here from my New York series.”
“My studio in Cumbria is set in the midst of magnificent countryside with an endless source of inspiration just outside the door. My own garden has been a labour of love for the past 20 years and a great source of inspiration for my painting.”
Anne has exhibited in London, Manchester, Amsterdam and New York and her work is regularly on show throughout galleries in the North West of England.
The Brewhouse at Burgundy’s is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 10.30-5.00 pm.
