The Brewhouse at Burgundys, Lowther Street, Kendal
1 November 2015 to 31 January 2016
Roger Preston lives in the North-West of England. Since his retirement from full time employment at the end of 2013, he has had more time to devote to “the artistic struggle”. He has a body of work which includes abstracts, life drawings and paintings and some still life. This exhibition is limited to 13 abstracts painted over the last 3 years.
His early art influences were almost all American abstract Impressionism, Pollock and Rothko et al., then on to Picasso, Breck and Paul Klee. More recently, the work of Georgia O’Keefe, Otto Dix and Egon Schiele have become important influences.
The Brewhouse at Burgundy’s is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 10.30-5.00 pm.
