I was born in 1989 and have lived in Cumbria all my life. I have an ABI (Acquired Brain Injury) however I am very creative and have a preference to use Art for expressing my feelings and emotions.
I have an Art Facilitator who has been working with me over the past 7 years. During that time I have explored many avenues in art including printing, pottery and peg loom weaving.
I have held both solo and group exhibitions in local galleries which include the Ludus Gallery in Lancaster, the Theatre by the Lake in Keswick and in the annual Arts & Craft exhibition at the memorial hall in Burton in Kendal.
I love using different textures and have a preference to use strong and bright colours in order to create bold statements.
Within my support team, I have an Art Facilitator who works with me twice a week to assist me with my techniques, colours and compositions. She shows me how to use different tools such as thin & thick painting brushes, pallet knives, rubber stamps, rollers.
In the past I have also used alternatives such as twigs, plastic card, scrunched up foil and paper and plastic bags. However, my favourite work involves mixed media as I like to work on the canvas by painting and layering colours in order to achieve unique art work. My Art Facilitator also helps me with researching and sourcing work by other artists whom I can take inspiration from.
I try and reflect my mood or the way I am feeling in my Art, and this also helps me to explore different senses in the way I produce a piece of work.
