Cally was born in Kendal and lives on the family dairy farm on the Cumbria / Lancashire border.
She is inspired by her rural surroundings and enjoys painting racehorses, farm animals and wildlife amongst other subjects. She works in both ink and brusho and occasionally water based oils. She prefers a loose wet-in-wet style and likes to experiment in a variety of media, she particularly likes drawing with ink using home-made dip pens. With a loose and expressive style, her most recent works have become progressively more abstract.
Cally exhibits regularly throughout the South Lakes with Green Door Artists and Art Cumbria. She held her first solo exhibition in July 2015 at Low Sizergh Barn.
Cally teaches small groups at her home studio and is available for brusho demonstrations and workshops throughout the North West.
She welcomes visitors to her home studio to discuss her work and accepts commissions.
