An artist based in Kendal, Cumbria Geraldine Walkington is trained in fashion design and pattern cutting at Manchester Polytechnic and now works across a range of media, mostly painting in oil, creating textile works and original prints.
Geraldine is inspired by structure, colour and detail in both the natural and man-made environment. Recent work has focused on the detailed structures of rock. Her sketchbooks capture the minutiae of her surroundings and she develops ideas and interprets her sketches to create bold, expressive and tactile art.
Her work, including painting, etching, linocuts and textiles, has been shown at the Royal Exchange, Manchester and several venues in Chamonix, France.
