It was a “Year 2000 – What Do You Want to Be in the New Millennium” decision for Karen Miller to devote herself to painting. She left an active career behind and prepared herself by participating in numerous workshops presented by well-known American artists. She eventually had her own gallery in her mountain town in Colorado and has written and illustrated several children’s books. She has enjoyed exploring this new part of the planet since moving to the area in 2013. The landscapes of her new home fascinate her and she loves doing portraits of people and pets as well. While she works primarily in oil, she also dabbles with other mediums.
In an effort to get to know the people in her village of Holme, Karen has set the goal of painting portraits of at least 100 of them in the year 2015. She has had an enthusiastic response from the villagers and is well on her way. All of them are 12″ X 12″ oil paintings will be on display at the Holme Village Hall December 27th and 28th, 2015.
