Painting mainly in oil, my inspiration comes predominantly from the natural world. Living in the Lake District and by Morecambe Bay has taught me appreciation and awareness of nature, and I try to capture the dramas that unfold, daily, when light and weather impact on the forms and colours of the land ,sky, and seascape. In terms of ‘style’, my work exists between the representational and the abstract.
Artists that have inspired me include Matisse, David Hockney and William Crozier.
I have exhibited at the Silverdale and Arnside Art trail and C-Art and the 2014 Green Door Art Trail.
