‘Cumbrian Coast’

“Landscape and nature paintings bring a different place, weather and moment into a home, and they bring the feeling, reaction and expression of the artist, and of the viewer, out onto the wall where it can be shared.”

‘Mist on Scout Scar’

Eileen lives and paints in Grayrigg, a small village in the fells between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales, which provide endless inspiration. She also travels as often as possible in Britain and further afield, mainly in a camper-van. This encourages time spent outside engaging with nature.

‘Westray Rocks’

After first spending time absorbing the atmosphere, colours and light of landscapes which inspire her, Eileen gathers information through photography, sketches and visual memory. She then returns to the studio to produce the final work, using a variety of techniques and tools to manipulate the paint depending on the forms and mood of the subject. She works on each painting over many sessions to capture the particular ambience of a place and a moment.
