‘Taylor’s Barn Cowgill, Red Door’ by Kath Lockhart

Green Door are heading to Grasmere for our first group exhibition of the year. The exhibition at Grasmere Village Hall will include a diverse and exhilarating range of 2D and 3D work from almost half of our 100 members.
Changing colours, atmosphere and light over the course of a season, or even a day, just outside my front door has provided Kath Lockhart with inspiration for the work she is exhibiting. Her inspiration has come also from the many abandoned and disused barns around Dentdale and beyond. The weathered stones and painted door, there for decades, are testament these buildings’ history.

‘Autumn Reflections’ by EM Lafuente

Landscape paintings from EM LaFuente show the contrast between the solidity of the mountains and the subtlety of a calm reflection. Both characteristics, she says, are present in ourselves as well as the landscapes we perceive.
Anne MacKinnon was captivated by how the vibrant colours in the landscape were highlighted by the moon and created this piece called, appropriately. ‘Moonlight’.
