Steering Group

Steering meet every six weeks or so and manage the day to day operations of Green Door, working with Janice as administrator  This isn’t onerous and is usually enjoyable!  Members have a wide range of skill sets and work together to take Green Door forward.  New members are voted on at the AGM in May and if you’d like to know a bit more about what it involves, you’d be very welcome to come along to a meeting to find out.

Chair

In collaboration  with the Steering Committee, the role of Chairperson is:

  • To preside at Steering meetings, so that the often complex discussions result in clear decisions and actions.
  • To help identify how tasks can be most practically be done, including appropriate delegation.
  • To help decide whether ‘opportunities’ are worth pursuing for Green Door, or are potential ‘time-sinks’.
  • To represent Green Door at meetings where possible and appropriate.
  • To help resolve procedural difficulties within Green Door, including complaints.
  • To act as line manager to the Administrator on behalf of the steering group.
  • There is no onus on the Chairperson to personally help hang every exhibition – this will be the remit of the Exhibitions Group.

Exhibitions Group

The Exhibitions group meet every six weeks to explore future exhibitions opportunities and plan those exhibitions that are already in the diary. Let Janice know if you’re interested in joining.

Social Group

The Visioning Day and the subsequent survey identified a desire from members to get together more.  We would like to invite members to form a group to plan social activities and trips.
