Green Door Art Trail catalogue 2019

The weekend of 28 and 29 September saw the return of our annual Art Trail.  More than 50 artists in South Lakeland and North Lancashire opened their doors to the public.

There was an impressive array of original art on show, including ceramics, drawing, glass, mixed media, painting, photography, printmaking, textiles and wood not forgetting those popular small and special treats, including jewellery and greetings cards.

The Trail, an established annual event, provided the opportunity to see an extensive and diverse range of work from artists both contemporary and traditional, in their own homes or studios or in small group venues. Each venue was unique, with its own charm. Entry to all venues was free and artists offered a warm welcome.

Visitors talked to the artists, viewed their work, and found out more about the techniques they used and the passions which inspired them.  Some artists gave demonstrations and showed their work in progress. It was a wonderful opportunity to visit our talented members in their homes and studios to discuss, admire and purchase their work – and recognise just how much original art is created in our area.

Trail venues stretched from Burton in the south, up to Kendal, and across to Grange over Sands and Ulverston. Group venues were at the Athenaeum at Leasgill near Milnthorpe, the Green Door studios on Market Place in Kendal and Greenodd Village Hall.
