My interest in wildlife started from an early age with collection and observation of mini beasts in the back garden and has continued ever since. I found this interest in the natural world has been the overriding inspiration for my creative work.
I use a variety of techniques in my work and enjoy the working through and refining of the process as much as the result.
I recently completed a Foundation Degree in Drawing at the University of Cumbria and it was whilst studying for this that I started using wire as a material to produce art works.
Since then I have continued to develop a drawing style in wire and have been inspired by the work of contemporary artists Gavin Worth, Celia Smith and David Oliveira.
In contrast to the ethereal, pared down nature of my unique sculptural wire drawings, I also enjoy creating linocut prints and playing with clay to produce quirky hand built ceramics.
