I am exploring landscapes in a variety of media, searching beyond the surface to capture mood and light. I am often inspired by a less obvious combination of colour and surface. I am looking at rusting metal, weathering wood, eroding rock forms and the patina of decay and change in the landscape.
I have a fine art degree from Manchester and an Art Teachers’ Diploma. I have taught in secondary schools and colleges, worked in landscape architecture and architectural practices in Manchester, and for McCann Erickson advertising agency and other advertising companies.
I have always still painted and have regularly had solo exhibitions, as well as joining in group exhibitions in the North West and London galleries. Free to do my own work now, I am exploring elements of printing and ceramics as well as my painting. I still run a painting course at the Finca el Cerrillo in Spain, and teach courses at the Brewery Arts centre and Higham Hall.
