Having studied at the Royal College of Art, my work is inspired by the Lakeland landscape, more specifically the Kentmere valley where I live.

The work itself is abstract and I usually paint from memory, beginning with familiar elements – field patterns on the fellside, or the curve of a line of trees – before building up layers of paint in an intuitive way, responding to the marks themselves, so that the final piece, whilst not immediately recognisable, retains a sense of place.
