Thuline was born in Bruges and finished her studies in interior Architecture in 1993. After a 3-year break, during which she worked as an educational assistant in an immigration centre, travelled to the states, Ghana and several countries in Europe. She moved to the Lake District after a romantic encounter in the mountains of Andalusia in 1996.

She finds her inspiration in animals: “I observe animals, their shapes, gestures and mannerisms and in developing my ideas, I take them quite often out of their context. I like using bold colours. I try to paint their character. The paintings give you a happy feel.”

She also does pet-commissions with a slight twist.

Since moving to Windermere, Thuline also started painting some landscapes.
